Candidate For Orange County Sheriff
Andrew was born in Titusville and raised in Orange County, Florida. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School. This is his home.
He became a teenage parent in his junior year of high school. In 2004, he joined the Army and served for 7.5 years, deploying to Iraq twice. He met his wife, Jennifer, in the Army (where she still serves on Active Duty). Andrew and Jennifer received full custody of Andrew’s daughter and added a son to their family in 2010.
After leaving the Army in 2011, Andrew received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Strayer University in 2013 and 2014 respectively. After graduation, Andrew decided he could best serve his community by pursuing a legal degree. In May 2018, Andrew graduated from the University of Miami School of Law.
In 2018, Andrew worked for the Andrew Gillum for Governor campaign. Campaign staff members referred to Andrew as the “other Andrew.” After the campaign, Andrew took the Florida Bar Exam and passed. In April, Andrew began serving the community he grew up in by working as an Assistant Public Defender in Orange County.
Field Director, Equality Florida
Wesley Davis is Equality Florida’s Field Director, responsible for helping to lead Equality Florida’s Pride and outreach programs and supporting Equality Florida’s member mobilization and voter engagement programs in priority legislative and electoral campaigns.
Wesley brings a diverse perspective to the Equality Florida team, having managed Democratic and Republican campaign programs throughout the country. He brings extensive experience as a Grassroots Coordinator and a Regional Director to the Equality Florida field team. As a former aide in the Florida House of Representatives he oversaw priority policy topics and putting constituents’ needs first.
Wesley has devoted his career to developing winning strategies, boosting community awareness, and positively impacting communities. He is based in Orlando.
President, Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus
Stephen Gaskill is president of the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus, a growing statewide organization currently boasting 19 chapters across the state. The LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus is affiliated with the Florida Democratic Party.
Stephen has a long and distinguished career both in Florida and at the national level. As a veteran of Democratic politics, he held senior roles in the Bill Clinton, Al Gore and John Kerry presidential campaigns, been advisor to and spokesperson for the Gore and Kerry families, and was press secretary and spokesperson for the Presidential Inaugural Committee, among other positions. He served in both terms of the Clinton Administration at the US Department of Labor, and was communications director at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). He also worked for several leading public affairs firms in Washington.
In Florida, he has worked on numerous state and local campaigns, from US Senator and Governor to city commission races, as well as Florida constitutional amendments.
Stephen has been an independent strategic communications consultant operating Gaskill Communications, LLC since 2002. Based in Delray Beach, Florida, he counsels leaders and organizations including trade associations, nonprofits, advocacy groups, corporations and political campaigns.
A Maryland native, Stephen holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland at College Park.
